Chicken 65 is a popular Indian appetizer that is spicy and crispy. Here’s a recipe to make it at home:

Ingredients:

  • 500g boneless chicken pieces, cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornflour
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • Salt, to taste
  • Oil, for deep frying
  • Curry leaves, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, add the chicken cubes, red chili powder, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, lemon juice, soy sauce and salt. Mix well and set aside to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and cornflour together. Add a pinch of salt and water to make a thick batter.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Dip the marinated chicken cubes in the batter and deep fry until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  4. Heat a little oil in a pan and add the curry leaves. Fry for a few seconds until fragrant and then add the fried chicken pieces. Toss well to coat the chicken with the curry leaves and serve hot.
Your Chicken 65 is now ready to be served as an appetizer or a snack. Enjoy!
