500g boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 cup plain yogurt
butter-chicken1 tablespoon ginger paste
1 tablespoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
Salt to taste
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon oil
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 tomatoes, pureed
1/2 cup heavy cream
Chopped cilantro, for garnish

Instructions:

In a bowl, mix together the yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Add the chicken pieces to the bowl and mix well to coat the chicken in the marinade. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Arrange the chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.

In a large pan, melt the butter and oil together. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it turns golden brown.

Add the pureed tomatoes and cook until the mixture thickens and the oil separates.

Add the baked chicken to the pan and cook for a few minutes, stirring occasionally.

Pour in the heavy cream and stir well to combine. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.

Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot with naan bread or steamed basmati rice.
